Save the Date Photoshoot
We had our save the dates "photoshoot" yesterday. I'm so excited how the pictures turned out. I can't tell you what we're doing or I'll spoil the surprise! With the help of my very talented friend Stephanie, she's going to help us create our DIY save the dates! I can't wait!

Tuxedos
Fred and I went to Men's Warehouse last weekend and picked out the men's attire. Besides the tuxedo (Fred chose a 3 button), the men will all be wearing the same thing. Here is what the vests will look like. And this is Fred's tux. I think I'm going to see if I can find a tie with tiny little white polka dots. :)

Yum, my pot roast smells DEElish!

Happy Valentine's Day!
What's on the agenda today? Fred has midterms, so not sure how much celebrating we'll do today. I am however planning on putting my Betty Crocker hat on and making him his favorite dish, pot roast. That's right, Amy's going to be cookin! It's a new day!
I have an appointment with a hotel near the Lakes at noon today. Hopefully I'll make a decision on which hotel to use for our guests. I'm really close to securing a florist as well. I spent last night working on our wedding site. The geek in me is a perfectionist and I can't just throw something together and call it a day. That would be too easy.
My MOH, Erica will be shopping around Chicago today trying on different bridesmaid dresses on as well as my other bridesmaid Tracy, in Lexington. I sent out a list of my favorites to my gals, but still on the search for the right one. I don't have much time though as some places say it could take up to 4 months to get the dress in. That's June! Where does the time go?
Tomorrow, Fred and I are not only celebrating our 7th, (that's right, SEVEN yr anniversary of dating), but we're doing our photoshoot for our save the dates. I can't wait to see the final product!!!

Sorry I've been MIA
After realizing that people do actually come to my blog, I've decided to continue updating it. :) Sorry folks! My google analytics code was down and said that there was no traffic since November. So I figured the heck with it! But I'm back now. So instead of posting several postings to catch you up, I'll do it in this one.
Christmas was great. Both brothers were home. Kirk's movie, The Curious Case of Benjamin Buttons, premiered Christmas Day. So my fam, along with 30 other fans went and watched it. Good job Kirk! And the best part is always watching out for his name in the credits. I did have a video of this, but my camera card doesn't seem to be working. Uh oh.
I also had a nice 1.5 week break from work, so I took advantage of it and went into 100% wedding planning mode. My mom and I went to the Columbus Bride show early January and was able to get the Men's Warehouse discount for the tuxes. I'm always up for a great deal!
In the past month, my mom and I have been busy going to florists, stationary places and hotels. My next big thing is save the dates. Those should be going out this month. I came up with a very clever idea, so I can't wait to get those out. I'm also working on our wedding website. Man, this could be a full time job!
Fred started grad school Jan 6th and has been going well so far. Still adjusting and learning his group members. It gives me time to work on the wedding stuff while he's on his phone calls and studying.

I Found the One!
I found my wedding dress! And ironically, it was the very first dress I tried on 4-5 weeks ago. Go figure! Of course I can't show a picture, but like they say, it's not what I thought I'd end up with and you can just feel it when it's the right one. Sporting the veil, tiara and even a fake bouquet, it just felt right! YEAH ME!!!!

Cincy's Bridal District
So now that it's finally my turn as bride to be finding her dress, the trip to Cincinnati bridal district wasn't a successful one. After just getting back from Stephanie and Austin's wedding in Jamaica the night before (I'll write about that in my next posting), my mom and I drove sleepy-eyed to Cincy in hopes of THE dress. Since we were down there already, we swung by my favorite store IKEA for lunch and a few small things. You can never leave empty handed! And of course we had to stop by Jeffersonville on the way home as a treat for enduring the long day. So needless to say, it was a day full of shopping.
